When I was younger, I used to wonder why I had my Stand ... why I was inexplicably different from everyone else. So, in a way, I'm grateful for the chance to aid Jotaro and Mister Joestar. Even with the danger. It was a relief, finding something that my Hierophant could uniquely help with.
[ pause. just a little more awkwardly: ]

[ He smiles, and though Kakyoin can't see that, it's easy to tell he's pretty pleased from his tone of voice ]

Hey, thanks -- it's good to know I can count on you in here. Man, now I'm totally annoyed that Jotaro-san never brought you to Morioh, I bet you would have been real useful with all the shit that went on. But I mean, he didn't even tell me he's married and got a daughter, so I guess that explains it...
[ he's silent for a moment at that, his voice a little quieter when he answers. ]
I suppose it's difficult guessing what happens that far off in the future. Given Jotaro's personality, it's hard to know if we'll even stay as more than acquaintances, once the journey to Cairo is over.
[ a soft, wan laugh. ]
Though I could just as well be busy at that time. Or maybe he deemed the situation something he could handle on his own. Who knows. Besides, I can't imagine a situation that the two of you combined couldn't overcome. You're both very capable.
Ah, well, I guess originally he came to check on me because of inheritance and stuff, you know, telling me about family things... And to check on a serial killer pops saw with his Stand, but that asshole was small game, I took care of him just fine on my own.
I'm sure you guys are still friends, no way he'd let go of the one guy who tolerates him.

But ... Jotaro was the one to tell you about family matters? [ a dry smirk. ] I don't mean to be nosy, but it certainly sounded like there were some complicated circumstances at work there. I can't imagine how he ended up being the bearer of such delicate news.
Well, you know, pops was too old for the travel, and there was a dangerous Stand user around, so I guess they decided it was safer to have Jotaro-sam come over. Way more personable than just sending some guy from the Speedwagon foundation too, I guess.
He was pretty tactful too, a world's difference compared to the current Jotaro Kujo.
Hah -- no no, I mean, he ended up coming to Morioh anyway later on, so I did meet him. Just ... older, a bit more troublesome. But we spent a lot of time together and got to know each other. To be honest, it's a little strange to be on the other side of things now that I know him and he's the one who doesn't know me.
[ There's a bit of awkwardness in his voice, and it's definitely embarrassing to talk about this -- he doesn't want to sound like some kinda papa's boy. But it's obvious he cares a lot. ]

... I see. It must have been tough, having people you know not recognize you, but it sounds like you adapted to it pretty quickly. I'm sure Mister Joestar appreciates it.
